Personalized timeline

Track every task. Capture every detail.

Compass breaks the move into individual task cards — apostilles, vet visits, consulate appointments, school enrollment. Each one has a due date, a status (to do, in progress, done), and a notes field for the things you'll only remember if you wrote them down: the phone number for the consulate, the reference ID the apostille office emailed back, the name of the person at the bank who confirmed your appointment.

Add your own tasks alongside the ones Compass generates — the vet visit, the school open house, the haircut before the passport photo. They all live in the same plan, dated against the same move date.

Zoom out to the Gantt view and the whole move lays itself out at once — what runs in parallel, what stacks, where the catch-22s are. The bank-lease-tax-ID trap in Lisbon. The Anmeldung-before-bank loop in Berlin. Spain's empadronamiento. All named, all ordered.

  • Five ways to look at your plan: Gantt, agenda, day, week, and month
  • Document expiry alerts on every dated task
  • Export the whole plan to Google, Outlook, or Apple Calendar
  • Up to 3 relocation plans to compare two countries side by side

Consulate prep

Walk in with exactly what they need. Miss nothing.

Information specific to you: your visa type, your assigned consulate, the exact document checklist — including the specifics that vary by office.

You also get the consulate's booking platform and the phone number. Save your appointment date and Compass locks it into your timeline so document expiries line up with the day you walk in.

  • Exact per-office, per-visa checklist — not a generic list
  • Contact information and links to consular office booking platforms
  • Appointment date feeds back into your full timeline

School enrollment

School enrollment isn't universal. Get the exact timeline for your destination.

The term calendar runs the show. Miss the enrollment window and your kids wait a full semester. Compass works backwards from the first day of term: when apostilled transcripts need to be in your hands, when sworn translations are due, when the receiving school's application opens.

Country rules sit underneath: Malta accepts US transcripts in English; Spain requires sworn translation; Germany's Anmeldung is a prerequisite for enrollment in most Länder — which makes it a dependency on your housing timeline, too.

  • Country-specific enrollment rules and language requirements
  • Vaccine catch-up schedules by destination
  • Deadlines computed against your specific move date

Pet planner

49-country rules, computed against your move date

Microchip, rabies vaccine, titer test, USDA endorsement window, IPATA shipper booking — the full timeline. Breed restrictions flagged the day you save the pet. If you're flying a restricted breed to your destination, Compass tells you that on day one — not the week before you fly.

Document tracker

From "need to order" to "submitted" — with expiry alerts

State birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce decree, university diploma, income documentation packets. Each one tracked from ordered through apostilled, translated, and submitted. The documents that age out get an expiry clock. The ones that are due soon surface at the top of your dashboard.

Medication import rules

What's permitted, what needs paperwork, what's banned

Rules differ by country and they change. Compass holds them for all 49 destinations in the catalog — which controlled substances are permitted in personal-use quantities, which require advance import paperwork, which are banned outright.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Annual subscriptions can be cancelled in your account settings; you keep access until the end of the period and aren't billed again. Lifetime is a one-time purchase — there's no recurring charge to cancel. Both tiers carry a 14-day refund policy, no questions asked. Mail us within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund it.

Annual or lifetime — which should I choose?

Annual at $89 if you want the smaller upfront number. Lifetime at $229 if you hate recurring charges or expect to plan over a longer timeline. Identical features either way. The founding-member price ($149 lifetime, first 100 customers) makes the lifetime decision straightforward if it's still available when you read this.

Does Compass fill out my visa application for me?

No. Compass tells you which documents you need, in what order, with what apostilles and translations attached — and works the dates backwards from your move date. It doesn't fill out your application form or submit it on your behalf.

What if I'm moving with a partner, kids, or pets?

Compass is built for households, not individuals. The People tab tracks each member of your move — partner, kids, pets — with their own paperwork chain. One account covers everyone in your household.

What if my move date changes?

Change the move date and Compass recomputes the whole timeline — every deadline, every document expiry, every reminder.
